Dr David Hutchins is a skilled and respected Consultant in acute and chronic adult Pain Medicine, Anaesthesia, and critical care transfer medicine, with over 10 years of specialist experience. Dr Hutchins has been independently practicing as a Consultant since 2019. Following his undergraduate training in Brighton, Dr Hutchins training was mainly based in the Southwest. Shorter periods of time to gain sub-specialised pain medicine experience in neuropathic pain, neuromodulation, and paediatric pain medicine were undertaken in Bristol and Southampton.

Dr Hutchins has completed the Bond Solon Cardiff University “CUBS” medicolegal qualification which has provided the foundation for his high-quality medicolegal expert witness service. Dr Hutchins ongoing professional development continues to advance his medicolegal practice further. Dr Hutchins started medicolegal practice in 2023 and is committed to provide high quality expert witness services in claimant, defendant, and joint instruction civil cases regarding pain, anaesthesia, and transfer medicine.

Dr Hutchins civil medicolegal career comprises a practice based in Plymouth, Devon. However, this practice extends across the Southwest, south of England and Wales. Dr Hutchins is an organised, responsive, and adaptive professional, whose practice is characterised by working flexibly and respectfully according to client needs.

Dr Hutchins is heavily involved with education, running a national examination course for doctors in training, and regularly teaching as an Honorary Senior Lecturer for the University of Plymouth. With a passion for quality improvement in patient care, much of his work is accepted at national and international meetings.
